Rock Al Parque  -  (Rock In The Park)

The Rock Al Parque District Music Festival about to celebrate its 15th version in 2009, is the most important free-for-all music event in Latin America.

This event features youthful rock music and has been very successful. Approximately 400.000 people attended the event between 2004 and 2006. The event congreagates150.000 attendees every year.

This music festival has given an important space to the best Colombian Rock Music Talent as well as international musical artists/performers from all over the world.

Currently Rock Al Parque is organized by the City Hall Office of Bogota, through the city's Philarmonic Orchestra.  The event takes place at the "Simon Bolivar" Metropolitan Park during an all-day-long weekend period for the peaceful enjoyment of the audience (mainly youth).

The music festival programming is fed to a large degree by local and National groups selected through an annual Public Music Competition in which approximately 300 bands participate.  The selected bands stand out for their experience/history and for having an international musical element demonstrating a true sense of the Latin American Rock Music. In recent years this incfluences have shifted to include styles that originate inEurope and The United States. 

The festival includes a series of activities as part of its programming: conferences on production; management; the recording industry; music associations; live-concert production; current trends, as well as clinics given by musicians; expositions; forums and artists talks.  

The District Tent In The Park is a space where everything related to the production of rock music has the opportunity to be displayed and discussed (independent record industries; t-shirts; paraphernalia; musical instruments; venues: bars, night clubs; recording studios, etc. ..),

This Festival is an eartistic event supported and funded by the City and hs become the most digninficant event in the country. An event with the youth in mind, that encourages their participation, tolerance and free expression without violence. It is the most important window to increase and strengthen the rock music genre .

Tridha Arts Associaion has been approached this year by the City Hall to act as the Production Manager of this important event.
